David Montez Jr.

David Montez Jr, age 57, of San Angelo died on December 9, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Public viewing will be on Friday, December 18 from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral Home. A rosary will be at 6:00 PM in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel.
The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 19 at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Mertzon Cemetery in Mertzon. There will be no procession to the cemetery.

David was born January 30, 1963 in Morton, Texas to his parents, Maria and David Montez Sr. On December 4, 1981 he married Eloisa Tarango. He loved the great outdoors especially fishing and bbq's. David was passionate about Elvis Presley and the golden oldies.

He worked as custodian for about 20 years Mertzon and Wall School Districts and truly enjoyed being surrounded by all the children and watching them grow.

David was preceded in death by his father, David Montez Sr., a son, Nicholas Joe Montez, and his brother Tommy Lopez.

He is survived by his wife, Eloisa Montez, his children, Erika Montez and her spouse Christopher Esparza, Billy Joe Montez, and David Rocky Montez III; by his siblings, Hector Lopez, Julie/ Ric Reyes, Paul Montez, Avelina Mendoza, and Ray Montez; by his grandchildren, Carlye Joe, Alyssia Jay and Gabriella Montez; and by many loving nieces and nephews.
