It is with great sadness that the family of Hermelinda "Linda" Sanchez Hinojosa announces her call to Heaven on Monday, September 13, 2021, at the age of 74.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving family, husband, Gus Hinojosa of San Angelo; brother, Lazaro Sanchez and wife Judy of Aspermont; two daughters, Janda Castillo and husband Joe of Austin and Manda Klein and husband Todd of Lubbock, and the pride and joy of her life, grandsons, Jacob Michael Castillo and John Francis Klein.
Linda was born on May 18, 1947 to Margarito and Irene (Perez) Sanchez in Menard.
Linda was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was strong in her faith and enjoyed attending mass. She was an active participant of Adoration and volunteered each year at the church festival. Linda was also a member of the ACTS and Emmaus Communities, De Colores!
Linda's sweet smile and loving nature will be greatly missed by all those that knew her, especially her Ya-Ya Sisters - a sisterhood that met regularly to worship Jesus and celebrate each other. Their friendship spans decades, and one of the last memories she talked about was her dear friends. She is survived by Rhonda Legg, Becky Callan, Doris Fox Clarke, Gail Harris and Sandy Caves.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Herlinda, and her parents, Margarito and Irene.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with the Rosary recitation at 6:00 PM Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 17, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Adam Droll, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers include family members, Paul Castillo, Tom Klein, and Gabriel Hinojosa; nephews, Brent Sanchez and Kevin Sanchez; close family friends, Jesse Fitchett and Gary Hardegree; and godson, Mario Esteban Luna.
Everyone should find a friend like Linda in this life. When reflecting on her life and spirit, Corinthians 13:4 - 7 is perfect, as she was synonymous with LOVE.
Linda is patient. Linda is kind. Linda does not envy or boast; she is not arrogant or rude. Linda does not insist on her own way; she is not irritable or resentful; she does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Linda's love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
God bless Linda Lu. May she rest in His arms.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Linda's giving nature to the San Angelo Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign War, 125 S Browning St., San Angelo, TX 76903 or a non-profit of your choice.
