Alan McGuire, 76, passed away Monday, May 1, 2018, at his home. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 7, 2018, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Barnhart with Pastor Larry Young, minister of Barnhart Cowboy Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo. Mr. McGuire was born May 26, 1941 in Kermit. He married Beverly Alexander on November 24, 1961 in Odessa. Alan has been a resident of Barnhart for 40 years. He was a rancher, horse trainer, worked in the oil field and was a heavy equipment operator. One of the horses he trained and rode "Skipper's Hank" won The World Cutting Horse Futurity in 1974. Alan was a member of Barnhart Cowboy Church and Bethel Baptist Church in Big Lake. He also was a member of the Sons of the Revolution. Survivors include his wife, Beverly McGuire of the home; two daughters, Tangela Blain and husband Bill of San Angelo and Tonya Harris and husband David of Guymon, Oklahoma; a sister, Priscilla Taylor of Justin; three grandchildren, Aaron Blain and wife Melanie of Garland, Tara Blain of Denton and Colton Stalcup of Guymon, Oklahoma.
