Albert Monreal, Jr. 61, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in San Angelo.
Public viewing will from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, September 20, 2021, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Cremation will follow under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Monreal was born October 14, 1959 in San Antonio. Albert was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1978 and retiring as a Sergeant in 1991. Albert later reenlisted from 1993 serving 2 tours in Iraq where he received a Purple Heart and then retiring in 2010. He has been a resident of San Angelo since 1992. Albert married the love of his life Karen "Kay" Murphy in 1992. They spent the last 28 years happily married and definitely displayed the meaning of true love. She preceded him in death on August 21, 2020. After Albert's service he became a Bus driver for the San Angelo ISD retiring in May of 2021. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and he loved to play his PlayStation. Albert loved to spend time with his grandchildren, whether it be attending school functions, picking them up from school or just hanging out. They were the light of his life.
Survivors include three daughters, Tiarra Monreal and partner Justin of Charlotte, North Carolina, Brandee Murphy and partner Chris and Ashley Murphy and partner Melodi all of San Angelo; three grandchildren, Elena and Davian both of San Angelo and Nasir of Charlotte, North Carolina; a brother, Miguel "Mike" Monreal of San Antonio; and five sisters, Belinda Wilkins, Leticia Gonzales, Silvia Torres, Magdalena "Maggie" Stewart and Veronica Hild along with numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert, Sr. and Cecilia Monreal; and a brother, Edward Monreal.
