Alfredo S. Garivay, 85, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 in a local care center. Viewing will start at 8:00 am with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Following the Rosary, there will be a family reception held in the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Sandra Garivay-Ornelas officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Michael Garivay, Ector Garivay, Jr., Alfredo Garivay III, Mark Garivay, Zachary Perez, and Jacob Perez. Alfredo was born on August 7, 1927 in San Angelo to Baleranio and Anita (Santos) Garivay. He married Manuela Mata in San Angelo in 1952 and worked at Western Iron Works for over 30 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Alfredo is preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, Evaristo Garivay; and Raul Garivay, Sr.; and a sister, Rosa Garivay. Alfredo is survived by his children, Sandra Garivay-Ornelas and her husband Willie Jr. of The Colony; Alfredo M. Garivay, Jr. and his wife Elida of San Angelo; and Ector Garivay of San Angelo; Belinda (Garivay) Sigala of Irving; Joe Avelos of Lubbock; Terri Narducci of Kileen; and Manuel Rocha of San Angelo; Twenty-Eight grandchildren and Thirty-Nine great grandchildren.
