Allen Roy Whitlock

Allen Roy Whitlock, 80, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019, in San Angelo. Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 15, 2019, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Steven Whitlock, Allen's son, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mr. Whitlock was born May 6, 1939, in Paint Rock. Allen was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during peace time. He married Janelle Burkes on June 23, 1961, in San Angelo. Allen has been a resident of San Angelo since 1961. He worked at Angelo State University, Pool Well Service, and R.G. Barry Corp. Allen worked in various jobs including electrical and mechanical work and was very talented being able to do many other trades. He loved gardening, fishing and hunting. Allen loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Janelle; a daughter, Connie King of San Angelo; a son, Steven Whitlock and wife Frankie of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Robin Adkins and husband Brian, Bryan King and wife Ashley, Arica McLemore and Husband Steven J., and Collin Whitlock; five great grandchildren, Emily, Mason, Madison, Avery, Hunter and Ellie; two brothers, Don Whitlock of Brownwood, and Joe Whitlock and wife Jeannie of San Angelo; two sisters, Helen Pope, and Judy Whitley and husband Kenneth all of Brownwood; Numerous nieces and nephews.
