Alpearl T. Jones

Alpearl T. Jones passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 in San Angelo. Family visitation will be 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 6, 2018, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Arrangements with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Alpearl was born to the parentage of Frank and Robbie Lee (Davis) Turner on August 12, 1933 in Hearne, TX. She was baptized into Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church at an early age. She attended Blackshear Elementary/High School and graduated with honors in 1952 and Texas Southern University in Houston majoring in Political Science. Alpearl married M.G. Givens in 1953. Two daughters were born to this union. She reunited with Greater St. Paul A.M.E Church in 1969 after moving back to San Angelo. She obtained employment with General Telephone Company (Verizon) where she worked over 20 years and retired. She was a member of Blackshear Elementary PTA, The Business and Professional Women's Club, The NAACP, and The La Coterie Club. Alpearl married retired Air Force Master Sergeant, Walter P. Jones in 1978. Walter was the father of four sons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter P. Jones, two sons, Walter Jones Jr., Eddie Jones, her parents, Frank Turner and Robbie Lee Dunn, two siblings, Ella Mae Dunn Levine and Kenneth Dunn, two daughters, Alarice Massingill and Robbinett White. She leaves behind a sister, Robbie Turner, four granddaughters, Ebeny (Givens) Cornelius of San Antonio; Brandy (Butler) Walker of San Angelo; Madison Massingill of Great Falls, Montana and Lacee (Jones) Rey of San Angelo; eleven grandchildren; E'Perez Ross, Keith Wright, Toni Wright of San Antonio; Jasmin Walker, Jabria Walker, Jeramy Walker Jr. of San Angelo; Charles Johnson, Miles Johnson of Montana; Rylan Rey, Reese Rey, Raegan Rey of San Angelo and a host of family and friends.
