Andy Montoya, age 70, of San Angelo passed away on Friday, November 16, 2007 at a local hospital. Rosary services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Deacon Abel Fernandez officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery where there will be a U.S. Air Force committal service. Andy was born on September 10, 1937 in Taos, NM to Amarante and Celina Montoya. He served thirty years in the U.S. Air Force where he worked in accounting and finance. He fought bravely in the Vietnam War and retired from the Air Force here in San Angelo as a Senior Master Sergeant. He then went back to Goodfellows Air Force Base for Civil Service and was a volunteer for Hospice of San Angelo for over twenty years. Andy married his soul mate, Diana Thomas, on June 5, 1965 in Sumter, SC and spent forty-two years happily married to her. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Andy is survived by his wife; Diana Montoya, three sons; Edward Montoya of Hayward, CA; Timothy Montoya and Anthony Montoya of San Angelo; grandson, Tristan Montoya of San Angelo. Sisters; Rebecca Toppett of Thornton, CO; Beatrice Montoya of Denver, CO; Delores Archuleta of Denver, CO; Patsy Torres of Thornton, CO and Rosie Trujillo of Taos, NM; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
