Amelia B. Gonzalez, 84, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 with her family by her side.
Celebration of Life visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Amelia was born on May 21, 1940 in Sanderson, Texas to Benjamin and Guadalupe Ball Gonzalez. She spent most of her adult life in San Angelo where she worked numerous jobs while raising her three children. She worked in production for Ethicon for over 25 years. Amelia was a devout Christian and loved her church family. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed taking family road trips to Shreveport and Eagle Pass, where casinos were one of her favorite pastimes. Amelia's friends and family knew her as the card lady because of all the greeting cards she sent on special occasions. Amelia leaves behind a legacy of true love, compassion, kindness and unwavering faith that will be treasured for generations to come.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Lara; and a brother, Benjamin Gonzales.
Survivors include her children, Belinda Esparza and her husband Israel, Rick Lara, and Martha E. Lara all of San Angelo; her brother, David Gonzales and his wife Maria of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Justin Segura and wife Shelby, Gabriel Luckey and wife Kimberly all of San Angelo, Ricky Lara Jr. and wife Maria of North Carolina, and Leticia Lara of San Angelo; 12 great grandchildren, Autumn Ledbetter, Austin Luckey, Tyson Luckey all of San Angelo, Alexis Mesel, Cory Mesel, Calob Lara, Blake Lara, all of North Carolina, Cash Gamez, John Gamez, Jr., Mariah Gamez, Ava Gamez, and Erin Gamez all of San Angelo. A special friend, Javier Valdez of San Angelo. Her two life-long best friends, Elidia Mendoza and Helen Garcia both of San Angelo.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to all of the staff at Hospice of San Angelo and their nurses, Laura, Jessica, Debbie, and Juana.
