ANITA S. TORREZ

Anita S. Torrez, 87, of San Angelo passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at her residence. Anita was born on July 27, 1923 in Lockhart, Texas to Marcus and Cruzita (Ybarra) Saldana. She married Domingo C. Torrez on October 5, 1953 in San Angelo and they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on January 6, 2002. She worked for R.G. Barry where she later retired. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with catering provided by Robert Massie Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am Monday, September 20, 2010 at Sacred Heart Cathedral with Father Tom Barley officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Manuel Rodriguez; Robert Martinez, Jr.; John Martinez; Richard Torrez, Jr.; Andrew Torrez; Michael J. Torrez; and Joe Mingo Torrez. She is survived by her children, Domingo Torrez and his wife Viola; David Torrez; Richard Torrez; Mike Torrez and his wife Liz; Linda Garivay; Mary Torrez; and Jackie Martinez and her husband Robert all of San Angelo. Also seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Hospice of San Angelo and Shannon Medical Center.
