Annette Jane (Settle) Buckman

Annette Jane Buckman peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021, in San Angelo Texas.

Celebration of life service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Deacon Walter Hammons, deacon of the Holy Angels Catholic Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

She was born on September 24, 1938 in Cumberland, Maryland to Ashby Settle and Rosella Long.

Annette enjoyed traveling and during her life resided in California, Pennsylvania, and Okinawa. Upon retiring from the Texas Rehabilitation Commission, Annette was able to enjoy spending time with her many grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud of. Annette had a huge laugh and a kind heart. She adored having her family around her. She loved animals and taking walks with her beloved dog, Radar, now deceased.

Surviving Annette are one brother, Jim Thompson of Frederick, Maryland; one sister, Patricia Brandenberry of Burlington, Vermont; her daughter, Patricia Rae Rowden (Brett) of San Angelo; her son, John Wesley Stotler, Jr. (Carol) of Larimore, North Dakota, and her daughter, Esther Danielle Martinez (Beverley) of Austin; her granddaughters, Melissa Ellison, Diana Lewis, Crystal McMillan, Bessie Wheeler, Tina Wheeler, and Nicki Wheeler along with many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Annette was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Michael Thompson; and a daughter, Susan Jane Wheeler.

The family wishes to extend thanks to Meadowcreek Nursing Home for their care of Annette in her final years.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations kindly be made to any branch of Meals on Wheels or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
