Arline Harris Taylor was born November 1, 1920 in Driftwood, Texas to Samuel Lee and Bertha Johnson Harris. She passed away February 17, 2009 at the age of eighty-eight in San Angelo, Texas. She was preceded I death by her parents and a daughter, Jeanna Gayle Taylor. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Tim Hayes of Tulsa, OK., her brother and sister-in-law, S. L. and Fleta Harris of San Angelo, and three nieces, Ann Mills of Paducah, Kentucky, Donna Harris of Saginaw, Texas and Paula Boyd of Snyder, Texas. Three great nephews, a great niece, a great-great nephew and two great-great nieces also survive. A graveside service in Fairmount cemetery, San Angelo, TX., will be conducted by the Rev. Ronnie Laughlin of First Baptist Church at 11:00AM Friday February 20, 2009. Arliene was a resident of Austin for sixty-eight years prior to moving to Baptist Retirement Community in San Angelo approximately three years ago. She served as executive secretary for a large real estate firm in Austin for a number of years, followed by working several years as a realtor. She was very active in organizations for women working in credit, serving in various offices at the local, state and national levels. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Austin for more than fifty years and taught a women's Sunday School class much of that time.
