Armando Robles Aguilar

Armando R. Aguilar, Sr. 86, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, in Big lake surrounded by his loving family.

Public viewing will from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel in San Angelo. Public viewing will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM and Mass will be at 2:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2022, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Big Lake with Father Balachandra Nagipogu, officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo.

Mr. Aguilar was born October 24, 1935 in Los Cristales, Mexico to Ricardo and Dominga Aguilar. Armando married Maria Buitron on November 16, 1961 in San Jose, Mexico. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2006. He has been a resident of Big Lake for 60 years. Armando was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Big Lake. He was a roustabout for D.D. Poynor for 40 years retiring in 2014. Armando was known for helping friends and family.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Vargas and husband Mike of Big Lake, and Bobbie Lou Oenning of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two sons, Armando Aguilar, Jr. and wife Sylvia of New Braunfels, and Jerry Aguilar and wife Guadalupe of Big Lake; three brothers, Raymundo Aguilar and wife Maria, Ramiro Aguilar and wife Eugenia all of Big Lake, and Arnulfo Aguilar of San Angelo; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Armando was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and four brothers.
