AUGUSTINE " AUGIE" RIVAS

Augustine 'Augie'� Rivas, 38, of San Angelo died Saturday September 26, 2009 at his residence. Rosary will be held 7:00 PM Sunday September 27, 2009 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Monday September 28, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Rodney White, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary cemetery. Augie was born December 5, 1970 in San Angelo, Texas to Augustine Rivas and Ester Morales. Augie was the fifth of eight children. He grew up in Lubbock, where he attended Lubbock Schools. He started working at the age of 17 for Albertsons supermarket of Lubbock where he worked his way up to meat market manager in a short amount of time. Augie was very dedicated to his job. He made friends everywhere he went and was loved by everyone who knew him. He worked in the Lubbock and Houston areas until he moved to San Angelo in 2002 to work for H.E. B. Augie married Elena Dominguez on February 6, 1998 in Ozona, Texas. Augie is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Elena Rivas; eight year old son, Johnathan Lane Rivas, both of San Angelo; twenty-one year old daughter, Elaina Rivas; his mother, Esther Morales and father, Augustine Rivas all of Lubbock; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Ricardo Dominguez, of Ozona; brothers, Cruz Rivas and wife, Amanda, Gus Rivas and wife, Monica, Paul Rivas, all of Lubbock; sisters, Elizabeth Castillo and husband, Ross of Houston, Sylvia Rivas and husband, Savage of Lenorah, Connie Gonzales and husband, John of Lubbock, Ester Fernandez and husband, Dave of Lubbock; brother '"in-law, Ricky Dominguez and sister-in-law, Cristy Dominguez, both of San Angelo and sister, Mimi Rivas of Arlington and 22 nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Cruz Rivas, Gus Rivas, Paul Rivas, Jacob Zarazua, Tommylee Rivas, Kevin Rivas The family would like to thank all of the Doctors that helped with his treatment and care and all the Hospice workers and his H.E.B. coworkers and friends for being there. We love you Augie and will miss you.
