AUTA MAE BRADSHAW

Auta Mae Reynolds Bradshaw of Eldorado, passed away on Thursday, February 03, 2005 in Eldorado. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with the Rev. Andy Anderson of the First Baptist Church of Eldorado officiating. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at the Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Auta Mae was born on the ranch in Schleicher County to Frank J. and Mary Myrtle Reynolds on July 3, 1910. She went to school at Adams School in the Rudd Community and later Eldorado High School. She married Claude Bradshaw on April 23, 1933. For seven or eight years they lived in Calf Creek and Richland Springs. Then they moved back to Schleicher County where Auta Mae continued to live out her life in the county of her birth. Auta Mae always maintained a ranching interest while working many other jobs including the local drug store, café, moccasin factory, the Woolen Mill. She became one of the first CNAs taught by Dr. Jim Brame at the newly opened hospital in Eldorado. She also worked for the school as a bus driver and in the cafeteria. After the death of her mother in 1963 Auta Mae assumed the ranching interest her grandfather and her mother settled in the eastern portion of Schleicher County. For the next 40 years Auta Mae lived on the ranch. She worked the land and raised livestock until age made that impossible. In 2001 she was awarded the Texas Family Land Heritage Award for 100 years of continuous ranching in the same family. Auta Mae is preceded in death by her parents Frank J. and Mary Myrtle Reynolds, four brothers, John, Ray, Rueben and Frank, and three sisters, Gertrude, Lottie and Bessie, and one nephew Johnny Ray Reynolds. Auta Mae is survived by one son, Eugene Bradshaw and wife, Vera Fae of Eldorado, one granddaughter, Janet Bradshaw of Austin, one grandson, Trey Bradshaw of San Angelo, one great granddaughter, Jillian O'Diorne of Austin and one great grandson, Sterling Bradshaw of San Angelo. Survivors also include a nephew, Arnie Lee Westbrook of Christoval, nieces, Frances Robinson and husband, Don of San Angelo, Myrtie Burke and husband Ed of Southlake, and LaNell Reynolds of Arlington. She leaves two grandnephews, six grandnieces, five great grandnephews and ten great grandnieces. She also leaves too many Bradshaw nieces and nephews to name. The family of Mrs. Bradshaw wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the Schleicher County Medical Center and Nursing Home, Dr. Lucas and his dedicated staff.
