Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on May 23, 1939 in Paint Rock to L.C. Ogle and Naomi Lillian Jones-Ogle, the 3rd of ten children. In 1969, Barbara met the love of her life, David Ross Bryant, and they were married that year on October 25, 1969 in Newcastle. They resided in Dallas, then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1970, and together they had a daughter, Marlee Robin, and a son, Gary Ross. In 1980, Barbara attended TVI Community College for 4 months to proudly attain her high school diploma. They loved their home there and raised their 2 children until returning to Ballinger in 1988.
Barbara was a hard worker and spent her childhood alongside her 9 siblings and her parents, sharecropping all over Texas, all of them working cotton fields, beginning even before they were school age. Later in life she worked retail at Sears, waitressing many jobs, an interior decorator at Montgomery Ward, and her favorite, becoming a certified nurses aide working with older people which she adored. But her most prized job was being a Mom and a grandmother, a wonderful homemaker most of her life. She was a loving neighbor to many and a loyal friend. There was nothing that couldn't be solved over a cup of coffee and a conversation about her love for Jesus. A true ambassador for Christ, she shared Jesus with family, and friends alike - from the bank to the grocery stores, to anywhere she went, she never met a stranger.
At a young age, she became a huge fan of country music legend Marty Robbins, and served positions in his fan club in Louisina, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. She and her husband Dave remained personal close friends of Marty until his death in 1982. Barbara was a big fan of "real country music" of the Grand Old Opry, but her favorite was Christian and Gospel music, listening to KLOVE 24-7. She spent her last years loving her family, her grandbabies and great grandbabies all, constantly sharing the love of Jesus with them, and in her last days, comforting them all and specifically speaking to all of them, reassuring that they will see her again someday and making sure they knew that Jesus is the only way for that promise. She always told them how much she loved them, and that she was praying for all of them every day. In her final hours, we were blessed to even hear her pray and thanking God, even for every single hardship and heartache and illness she had ever been through. Her faith was unshakable, passing that on to each of us.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, L.C. Ogle; her mother, Naomi Lillian Ogle; her husband, David Ross Bryant; her sister, Lahoma Trammell; her brothers, Wesley Ogle, Milton Ogle, Billy Ogle, Burl Ogle, Cody Ogle, Robert Ogle, and Larry Ogle; and her niece, Cynthia Ann Waldrop.
