Barbara Maddox, 77, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, in San Angelo.

Celebration of Life services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lubbock. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Maddox was born August 5, 1946 in McKinney. Barbara attended Grand Prairie High School. Barbara married Anthony "Tony" Maddox on August 21, 1971 in Wolfforth. Barbara worked for Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Methodist Hospital in Dallas,

Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, returning to Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. Barbara would move to San Angelo and work for San Angelo Community Medical Center, where she would retire. Barbara then moved to Denison where she would volunteer at Texhoma Medical Center, moving back to San Angelo in 2017. She was a former member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lubbock where she was the director of youth and taught Sunday School. Barbara was also a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Denison, and of St. Paul Presbyterian Church in San Angelo. She was a member of the Junior League, and she served on many boards. Barbara loved being with her family and friends, cooking, and shopping. She was a avid Kansas City Chief, and Texas Tech University fan. Barbara loved watching Patrick Mahomes.

Survivors include her husband, Tony Maddox of the home; her daughter, Buffi Blythe; two grandchildren, Brex and Blexi both of Wall; a brother, Gary Allen and wife Ellen of Keller; three sisters, Karolyn Webb and husband Ralph, Judy Greer and husband Ronnie all of Lubbock, and Beverly Geron and husband Larry of Sweetwater; many nieces, and nephews whom she loved and was very proud of. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Dean Allen, and Glenn Allen, and her father, Raymond Lawson.
