Basil Jefferson Alexander 4/9/26 - 9/16/14 The world lost one of its best Tuesday afternoon! An amazing man in every way. His family was his pride and joy! Basil J. Alexander was the last living heir of 11 children. Oh how the Heaven's rejoiced when he rejoined his family on September 16, 2014. Born on April 9, 1926 to Tom J. Alexander and Ruth Beatrice Davis in Valley Mills, Tx. He married the love of his life Frances M. McNutt on July 22, 1944. Together he and Frances had 6 children. In July they celebrated 70 Years of marriage with friends and family. He served in the Navy from 1944-1946 as Class V-6 Apprentice Seaman in WW2. Following that he worked for his father in law and learned the concrete business. In which he taught his brother and sons the family business. He subcontracted from J. D. & Henry Burk Construction. And then was self employed as Basil J Alexander Concrete Construction and subcontracted work from Reece Albert for 14yrs. He did concrete for much of the San Angelo area. He was a perfectionist to say the least when it came to his work. Once he retired from the concrete business he moved to Afton, Ok and operated the O2 Ranch until returning to San Angelo in 2001.
