Belia (Fraire) Clayton, 69, Tuesday, September 26, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cirrhosis, surrounded by family who will continue to honor her legacy of compassion and kindness by living their lives to the fullest.
A private viewing will be Saturday. Memorial Rosary will be 6:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Belia was a mother, daughter, wife, and friend with unconditional love for her family that didn't come to an end with her death. Belia was born February 7, 1954 in Sonora to Ascension and Elodia Fuantoz, the youngest of 4 sisters. After graduating from high school Belia worked as a waitress and lifeguard living a simple and happy life until landing a great job in May of 1977 at Ethicon, a Johnsons & Johnson Co., where she worked for 33 years, retiring in the summer, June of 2010. Later that year (1977) she met and quickly fell in love with her husband, Rodrigo Fraire at a fiesta in San Angelo. Together they raised 3 children: Jon, Alberto, and Angela. She later married Edward Clayton on January 14, 2008, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2010, whom she shared the love of a lifetime with. A man who cherished and doted on her every move. Belia was a professional when it came to love, a hopeless romantic. Her pleasant and charming personality was infectious and adorable. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially quality time with family. She loved to take pictures of everyone and everything. She loved going to the movies. She enjoyed baking and cooking. She loved Betty Boop and Dolphins. Loved helping family and friends even if it set her back. Her Family was her universe!
Survivors include her first husband, Rodrigo Fraire; her mother, Elodia Fuantoz; a son, Alberto R. Fraire; a daughter, Angela Rangel and husband John; a sister, Elodia Padilla; three nephews, Michael Moore, Henry Maberry, and Greg Padilla; two niece, Kristy Guerra, and Denise Moore; six grandchildren, Zoe Walker, John Rangel, Elidie Rangel, Jon Fraire, Jr., Dena Fraire, and Regan Fraire; and seven great grandchildren. Belia was preceded in death by a son, Jon Fraire, Sr.; two sisters, Mary Moore, and Patricia Maberry; and her father, Ascension Fuantoz.
