BENJAMIN D. HARRIS

Benjamin D. Harris, 90, of San Angelo passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2008 at Fairmount Cemetery with Brother Lester Swan officiating. Benjamin was born in Millcreek on April 16, 1918, Oklahoma to Calvin and Florence Harris. He married Doris Arnold on April 27, 1944, in Monahans. Doris passed away on May 9, 2000. Benjamin worked as a fireman for the Santa Fe Railroad and was a Goodyear Test Driver. He also owned numerous gas stations along I-20, in San Angelo and throughout West Texas. On April 7, 2004, Ben married Charlzie Treece in San Angelo. Benjamin is preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Harris, a grandson, Thomas Harris and an infant son, Benny Harris. He is survived by his wife, Charlzie Harris; sons, Benny Harris Jr. and wife Debbie of San Angelo; Gary Harris and wife Shirley of Fort Worth; Terry Harris and wife Tina of Big Spring; daughters, Sandra Swan of San Angelo; Debra Lynch and husband Tracey of San Angelo; step-daughter, Sandra Chrisman of Wallace, NE; step-son, Richard Treece of Bandera; brother, Calvin Harris of Wynnewood, OK; sisters, Arbelle Dowell and husband Spike of Topeka, KA; Iva Jones and husband George of Burnet; and Virginia Ozment and husband Bob of Victoria; grandchildren, Michael Harris and wife Stangie of Kansas City, KA; Cathy Quirino and husband Angel of San Antonio; David Swan of San Angelo; Cary Harris of Plano; Bart Blackburn of Mansfield; Cristie Blackburn of Mansfield; Carolyn Harris of Alvarado; Jeremy Harris of San Angelo; Rebekah Harris of San Angelo; and Adam Lynch of San Angelo; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
