Bennett William Reed

Bennett William "B.W." Reed, 91, of San Angelo, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in a local care center. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday, March 23, 2015 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, March 24, 2015 Ivy Cemetery in Christoval with Eddie Howard officiating. B.W. was born on March 26, 1923 to Mary Pearl and Bennett William Reed Sr. in Carlsbad. He served his country by joining the United States Navy during WWII and serving his time in the Solomon Islands. He married Ona Marie Boultinghouse on September 15, 1950 in San Antonio. B.W. was an active member of the Church of Christ where he enjoyed serving the church. B.W. enjoyed building and repairing anything and everything for his family and friends. B.W. is survived by daughters, Jenny Reed of Grand Prairie, Loretta Boyd and husband Larry of Christoval, son Bennett Reed, III and wife Terri of Sacramento, CA, sisters Lucille Trout of Eddy and Viola Saunders of Oklahoma City, OK, daughter-in-law Melanie Reed of San Angelo, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ona Marie Reed, sons Ronald C. Reed and Vernon J. Reed, brothers Marvin Reed and Curtis Reed, and sister Anita Weldon. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Gentiva Hospice and the staff of Mytlewood Estates. In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to the Christoval Church of Christ, P.O. Box 15, Christoval, TX 76935.
