Bessie Mae Pyburn, 94, of San Angelo passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor Young Houston officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Bessie was born on July 28, 1917 in Pottsville, Hamilton Co., TX to Barber and Jamimah Dutton. She married Asahel "Pete" Pyburn on November 28, 1936 in Pottsville, TX. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1999. Bessie was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Bessie loved gardening, even having a garden this past year, cooking and caring for her family. She welcomed any and everyone to her table for a meal. Bessie was the family spiritual leader with an unwavering faith in God. She deeply touched all who knew her and loved her. Bessie will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Hughes and her son-in-law, Richard James Hughes. Bessie is survived by granddaughters, Gail Bishop, Lyna Dobbins, Debbie Brody and husband, Pat; grandson, Tony Laxson and wife, Judy all of San Angelo; sister, Charlene Unger and husband, Paul of Amarillo; 9 great-grandchildren, 12 grt-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Patrick Brody, Aaron Brody, Steven Dobbins, Justin Boothe, Michael Jacquez and Eric Ortiz.
