BETTY JO BEVINS

Betty Jo Bevins, 76 of San Angelo died Thursday November 27, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday November 30, 2010 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Ward Hayes, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church of Sweetwater, officiating. Burial will follow at Belvedere Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Betty was born February 16, 1934 in Ganesville, Texas to Addie and Walter Kagan. She was later adopted by R.D. and Letha Rivers who raised her. She attended school at Turkey, Texas and worked most of her life as an apartment manager for several properties in San Angelo. She enjoyed bowling and was active in several leagues. She married David Bevins on May 11, 1968 in San Angelo. They traveled around the world while raising a family, in the Air Force housewife tradition. Betty was preceded in death by her biological parents, her adopted parents, five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her husband, David Bevins; two daughters, Carol Alexander and Tina Clements, all of San Angelo; two sons, Robert Hoffman Jr. and wife, Denese of Rotan and Jesse L. Bevins and wife, Paula of Ft. Bragg, New York.; a brother James Hawthorn and wife, Nancy of California and a sister, Shirley Sule of Toms River New Jersey; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
