Bill Rees

Bill Rees, 62, of Big Lake, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2016 in his home in Big Lake. Funeral services will be held 11:00am on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Portis Ribble officiating. Burial will follow in Robert Lee Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Bill was born in San Angelo to Thelma Louise and Bill Rees, Jr., on December 14, 1953. He graduated high school in Iraan, Texas and attended Texas Tech University. He married the love of his life Linda Higgins on April 1, 1978 in San Angelo, Texas. He worked in the oilfield his entire life. Working as a derrick man on drilling rigs, a roustabout, pumper, drilling foreman and for the last 24 years he was an oil and gas consultant. He loved his job and he loved working with JW Mulloy Associates. Bill is preceded in death by his father and mother and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Cindy and Ron Jetton. Bill is survived by his wife Linda of Big Lake, son Eric and wife Teresa of Lubbock, granddaughter Cecilia, special mother-in-law Alma (Kayo) Higgins, brother Robert Rees, nephew Justin Jetton and wife Kelsey and a very special friend James Williams of Ozona. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be given to the West Texas Rehab of San Angelo or Big Lake Volunteer Fire Department. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the EMT's of Reagan County, the staff of Shannon 4 South and Dr. Anderton.
