Billy Jo Green, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2008. She was born in Eldorado, Texas on May 19, 1931 to I. W. (Bill) Sweatt and Dulcie Ellis, both deceased. She was predeceased by a sister, Rosalyn Kidd and several special cousins. She graduated from Menard High School and San Angelo Business College. Billy Jo was a devoted wife and mother, was active in the 48 Club, represented the club at the 1962 Beta Sigma Phi Queen of Hearts ball, where she was crowned Queen of Hearts for that year. Billy is survived by her husband of 58 years, Howard W. (Jack) Green of San Angelo, four children; daughter, Gail G. Fargason and husband, Ray of Lubbock; daughter, Jackie L. Green of La Vernia, TX; son, Howard W. (Wes) Green, Jr. and wife, Laren of San Angelo and daughter, Dulcie G. Wink and husband, Marc of Houston; grandchildren, a very special Lisa M. Gerloff and husband, Mark of Birmingham, AL; Trent L. Taylor and wife, Brandi of Hereford; Tessa M. Easterling and husband, Brian of San Angelo; Matthew A. Green of San Angelo and Connor McMahan of Houston; six great-grandchildren; Garrett and Grayson, McKinley and Grant, Jenay and Tanner; niece Nancy Williamson and husband, John of Menard; nephew, Jerry Kidd and wife, Lisa of Brady; close family friend and loving caregiver, Cindy Warner; longtime family friend, Rebecca Ramirez, and numerous cousins. Special thanks are extended to the people of Hospice of San Angelo for their help and guidance through the final weeks of her life. Family visitation will be at Robert Massie Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until noon on Thursday, July 24, with a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Menard with Chaplain Mike Andress officiating.
