Billy "Bill" Glenn Du Pree, Retired Master Sergeant, U.S.A.F. Bill, 83, passed away Wednesday morning, February 19, 2014 at his home in Grape Creek. A viewing followed by funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo. The interment will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo. Bill was born November 17, 1930 in Sturgis, Kentucky to Albert and Alma Du Pree. Bill joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17 and in 1948 joined the newly established U.S. Air Force and served proudly and dutifully for 25 years including the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Thereafter Bill worked for the San Angelo State School for 17 years. Following his retirement, Bill enjoyed caring for his land and farm animals. Bill developed diabetes in Vietnam during the War caused by exposure to Agent Orange, which he gallantly fought for over 40 years. Bill was predeceased by his parents and his brother Harry Du Pree. He is survived by his sister Anna Smith of Pleasant Grove, UT, his brother Ellis Du Pree (Billie) of Topeka, KS, his sons Billy Du Pree (Debbie) of Rexburg, ID, John Du Pree of Hearne, TX, Phillip Du Pree (Tara) of Lake Worth, FL, and Glenn Du Pree (Francoise de Valera)of London, England, his grandchildren, Jared Du Pree (Anna), Janelle Jensen, David Du Pree (Stephanie), Brad Du Pree (Summer), Devin Du Pree (Melia), Heather Du Pree, Katherine Du Pree, Brandon Du Pree, Whitney Du Pree and Sean Du Pree, and his fifteen great grandchildren. Bill is deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all those who helped Bill in later years, including Dr. Robert Morton MD and in particular Robert and Doris Dehnel for their true friendship and care that they both gave our loved one.
