CARLENE CARR FIELDS

Carlene Carr Fields died Friday, July 23rd, 2010 in Austin, Texas. There will be a graveside service at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens on Monday July 26th at 11am. The Rev. Bill Proctor will be officiating the service. Funeral arrangements are provided by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Carlene was born January 27th, 1937 in San Angelo, Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carr. She was a graduate of San Angelo High School. She married her high school sweetheart Robert L. Fields (Bob) after attending Trinity University in San Antonio. Bob preceded her in death in 1996. Carlene was a member of many community organizations including the San Angelo Junior League. She taught Sunday school for many years at St. Mark Presbyterian Church and then became a member of First Presbyterian Church in San Angelo. She was a substitute teacher at Lee Junior High and also volunteered at Shannon Hospital. She was a very active tennis player and was a true fair weather golfer. Several years ago she moved to Austin to be closer to her family. She became very active in PEO, Newcomers and loved playing cards with her many friends in the Austin area. She enjoyed a very full life and traveled extensively to many countries. Carlene is survived by her daughter Karen Fields Morse and her husband Carl Morse of Austin Texas, her son Robert Kyle Fields and his wife Patricia of Kona, Hawaii, and her two granddaughters Kylie Kristen and Katelyn Carr Morse of Austin, Texas. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Foundation. The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the staff at Seton Hospital and Texas Oncology for many years of support.
