CARRYOLE JEAN BRUHA

Carryole Jean Bruha passed away on February 8, 2009 at her home in San Angelo, Texas. Carryole was born on August 27, 1930 in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Crawford. Being the wife of a military officer, she lived in many places, both statewide and overseas, but spent the past 34 years in San Angelo. Carryole was an elementary teacher in Wisconsin and Guam. She devoted her life to homemaking after she was blessed with children. In her later years, Carryole attended Angelo State University where she was introduced to clay as an art form and she spent many happy hours in her ceramic studio at home. Carryole was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Hazel Crawford. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, retired Colonel Harlan L. Bruha, USAF, of San Angelo; her son Joe Bruha, of Stamford, CT; her son Mark Bruha and his wife Carla, of San Angelo; granddaughter Whitney Bruha, of College Station, TX; and step-grandchildren; Tara King, of San Angelo, John King, of Lubbock and Misti Rose of Mertzon; step great-granddaughter Bethannie Rose; her beloved sister Maxine Greek, of Des Moines, IA; brother-in-law Kenneth Bruha and his wife Gloria, of Bradenton, FL; numerous extended family members and many cherished friends; including Joe and Madelaine Stapp, John and Rusty Nikolauk, Alice Torrez and Ricky Dennis. The Bruha family expresses special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the West Texas Renal Center; Community Hospital, the Hospice of San Angelo and Concho Home Health Care. The family will hold a private memorial service. Memorials in Carryole's name may be given to Hospice of San Angelo or a charity of choice. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
