Catarina Alvarez Aguilar

Catarina "Cata" Alvarez Aguilar, 78, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, June 9, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.

Viewing will be from 10:00AM-8:00PM Monday, June 12, 2023 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with a prayer service at 6:00PM. Funeral service will be at 10:00AM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow in Miles Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Cata was born June 16, 1944 to Domingo and Manuela Alvarez in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico. She met and married the love of her life, Juan Antonio Aguilar on January 4, 1965. They moved to Miles, Texas in 1979 and together they raised 5 wonderful children.

Cata was a very loving, warm-hearted woman who lived in the moment and always treated everyone with a kind heart and a big smile. She never met a stranger, and her language barrier never stopped her from having multiple friends. Cata was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. You could always count on having a warm meal and delicious tortillas when you went to her house. Cata was very devoted to her faith and a strong woman of God. She left a lasting legacy in all of our hearts that we will cherish forever.

Cata was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jose "Pepito" Aguilar; and her husband.

She is survived by four daughters, Maria Arteaga and husband Art of San Angelo, Marta Contreras and husband Armando of Del Rio, Patricia Chappa and husband Frank of Miles, and Carmen Aguilar of Miles; one son, Jesse Aguilar and wife Geneva of Miles. She also has two special grandkids whom she raised as her own, Tresint and Gissele Everhardt. She leaves behind numerous grandkids, great grandkids, a great great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins and her extended family the Scott's and Brown family.

The family would like to thank all the staff from WTRC Hospice of San Angelo and Robert Massie Funeral Home for all the love and care provided to our dearest Cata.
