Our Grammy, Celia "Wayne" Harris, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 5, 2008. She was born on March 21, 1915, to Joe Grant and Clemmie Allen Simons in Clay County, Texas. She attended and graduated from Clay County. She married Zeke Harris on January 15, 1936, in Clay County, at the home of her uncle, Tom Mayfield. They moved to San Angelo in 1942. Zeke preceded her in death on October 8, 1986. Grammy was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 65 years. She was self employed as Harris Decorative Services since 1956, having made custom draperies for countless homes in the area. In 2003, she was awarded the San Angelo Golden Neighbor Award. Grammy will always be remembered for her sense of humor, faithful servanthood, and the loving care she showed to everyone she knew. Grammy will be missed most by her daughter; Dixie Carol Turnbow and her husband, H. L. of San Angelo; her son Robert Harris and his wife, Marilyn of Veribest; grandchildren Landy Turnbow and wife, Margaret of Lindale; Leland Turnbow and wife, Theresa of San Angelo; Jim Bob Harris and wife, Laura of Miles; Christy Dorr and husband, Matt of Mineral Wells; Jeff Urbantke and wife, Tammie of Water Valley; and Dusty Urbantke and wife, Jodi of Muleshoe; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her brother; Melvin Simons and wife, Billye and three sisters; Doris Lippincott, Mary Whitsitt and her husband, Don, all of Weatherford, and her sister Mourine Seigler of Henrietta; and many nephews, nieces and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Aron, Coy, Elvin and Boyce Joe Simons; sisters, Willa Faye Simons, Monette Wyatt, and Fern Jackson; and a great granddaughter, Shelby Turnbow. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2008, at Bellevue Cemetery, in Bellevue, TX. A memorial service will be held at the Baptist Retirement Community Chapel in San Angelo at 2:00 PM. Monday, August 11, 2008. It was Grammy's request that memorials be made to a favorite charities.
