Cergio Ramon "Johnny" Fernandez, 81, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in San Angelo. He was born in Rock Springs to Irene and Martin Fernandez, Sr. on May 8,1941 and lived a very fulfilling life!
He was a well-known Insurance Salesman for the majority of his life, but music was his passion. Being a member of several bands, he played a variety of instruments, but was most known for his guitar playing skills, including acoustic, electric, and bass. Although music was his passion, the joy and light of his life were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, amazing musical talent and his huge heart of gold.
Cergio is preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Martin Fernandez, Sr.; brothers, Ramon Fernandez, Ervey Fernandez, Sr., Ray Fernandez, and Cerus "Cruz" Fernandez; sisters, Ester Gonzalez, Rosa Liebo, Irma Swanson, Juanita "Janie" Hernandez; and a son, Sergio "Bebe" Fernandez, Jr.
He is survived by his brothers, Martin Fernandez, Jr. of Chula Vista, California, James Fernandez, Sr. of San Angelo, Albert Fernandez, Sr. and wife Jane of Austin, and Baldemar "BF" Fernandez of Kingsville; his sisters, Ayda Maldonado and Christina Liebo, both of San Angelo; his daughters, Gracie and husband, Joe Sentena, III of San Angelo, Norma Garcia of San Angelo, Monica Rayner and husband, Nathan of Newport News, Virginia; his sons, Jonathan Fernandez and wife Gracie of San Angelo, David Fernandez and wife Raquel, Richard Fernandez and wife Nita, James Orona and Anthony Fernandez, Chris Fernandez and wife Grissell, Edward Fernandez and wife Samantha; 30 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and counting; and widow of the late Sergio "Bebe" Fernandez, Yolanda Fernandez of San Angelo.
Public viewing is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, a prayer of the Rosary will begin at 4:30 PM with the Celebration of Life service beginning at 6:00 PM Friday, June 17,2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, 402 Rio Concho Drive, San Angelo, Texas 76903. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
