Ret. Lt. Cmdr. Charles Lloyd Anderson Known to his friends as Charlie, Chuck, or Chuckles passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011. He passed away peacefully at Park Plaza Nursing Home after a strong fight with colon cancer. There will be a remembrance service of life and good times with Charles from 3:00pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2012. For service location information contact Debbie or Nhance. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Charles was born on November 20, 1946 in Texarkana, Ark. to Julian Carruth and Mildred Beatrice McKinney Anderson. He was well known throughout San Angelo, having graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1965. He attended ASU briefly before enlisted in the Navy. He retired after serving our country proudly after over 25 years. While serving he received dozens of awards and certificates of recognition for his outstanding service and dedication. Charles enjoyed doing lots of charitable work with the Adult Enrichment Center and Park Plaza Nursing Home. He was a lover of sports, dedicating time to Central as spotter in the press box, an official at the San Angelo Relays, and an active member of the San Angelo Bridge Club. Being a great football buff, he had a champion fantasy football team for several years. Charles married Leonida Quejada Helario on June 14, 1976 in Elizabeth City, NC. They shared an incredible and loving life together until her passing in October of 2010. Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife and his father. Survivors include his mother, Mildred Anderson of San Angelo, daughters, Debbie Anderson and her husband John of San Angelo and Marie Good and her husband John of Panama City Beach, Florida. Seven grandchildren; Shane, Dylan, and LaDwana Kuehn; Alex Tucei; Rex Good, Jay Wiant, and Dot Fiddler; five great grandchildren; Heather Fiddler, Devin, Landon, and Tyler Wiant; and Ansleigh-Marie Good. Niece; Nhance Lacson and her husband Jimmy of San Angelo and their children, Jina and James. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Park Plaza Nursing Home South Station Staff, The Rios Family, and especially Rosie, Amber Shaw, Gary Goetz, Roland Howard, and Milton Baugh.
