Charles Henry Lauffer, 73 of San Angelo passed away peacefully on Thursday May 2, 2013 at his residence. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Charles was born February 27, 1940 in Lakeland, FL., to Carl Henry and Lucy (Woodworth) Lauffer. Charles married Susan Huntley Harris on January 5, 1992 in Liberty Hill, TX. He was a professor of mathematics for 41 years at Lamar University. He also taught mathematics for three years in Malaysia and was a world traveler. He loved playing chess and taught his grandchildren to play. He is a member of St. Mark Presbyterian Church. Charles continues to teach by participating in the Willed Body Program at Texas Tech University. When he graduates; a celebration of his life will be held in Liberty Hill, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; Susan Lauffer of San Angelo; mother of his children; Paula Moore of Jasper, TX., two sons; Charles "Hank" Lauffer of Clarksville, IN., Paul Lauffer and wife, Kim of Groves, TX., daughter; Gretchen Ponder of Palistine, TX., step-son; Richard Harris and wife, Su Tang of Houston, TX., two step-daughters; Sandy Harris of San Angelo and Katherine Farrell and husband, Tim of Austin, TX.; grandchildren; Hannah, Charles, Michael, Nancy and Christian Lauffer, Timothy Lunn; step-grandchildren; Aidan and Keegan Farrell.
