Christine Elkins, 63, of San Angelo, passed away on June 20th 2014 in San Angelo at Shannon Hospital while recovering from major heart surgery. Rosary will be at 7:00pm on Tuesday, June 24th, 2014 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, June 25th, 2014 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Christine was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania at Allegheny General Hospital to Frank and Bertha Henry on December 10, 1950. Christine married Keith Elkins on February 22nd, 1988 in Lovington, New Mexico. Christine was a wonderful loving person, her nine grandchildren were the light of her life, she loved to speak of her grandchildren to each and all she met. Christine worked in the automobile business as office manager and comptroller since she was a very young woman. She was very dedicated to her profession and was a genuine enthusiastic car girl beginning as a teenager. Christine would refer to her "short legged Irish" husband saying "I love you with all of my heart" with total sincerity and love. Immediately after her husband the next love for Christine was Elvis Presley. She had collected numerous records and memorabilia and would sing along with Elvis. She was a fierce defender of Elvis should the need arise. Christine is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Bertha Henry and her sister, Jean Stewart. Christine is survived by her husband, Keith Elkins, sons, David Simmons and wife Carole, Brian Elkins and wife Andrea and daughter Trudy Elkins. Sisters, Franciene McDonald and husband, Larry and sister Jill Henry. Grandchildren, Kiersten Claeys, Jacob Estin, Matthew Estin, Joseph Elkins, Michael Simmons, James Elkins, Matthew Simmons, Meredith Simmons and Aubrey Hardison Pallbearers will be Matthew Estin, Joseph Elkins, Michael Simmons, James Elkins, George Carrasco and Steve Milam. The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of San Angelo Community Hospital and Shannon Hospital for all their help and attention.
