Christine Young

Christine Young, 92, of San Angelo passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at a local hospital. A family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5th at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6th at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Reverend Sheree Harris of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Chris was born in Dodd City, TX on November 15, 1920 to James and Celeta (Hawkins) Fletcher. She worked for Central National Bank for over forty years. Chris married Irvan Glen Young on March 17, 1945 in San Angelo, Texas. One of the things she will be most remembered for is her home cooking. She also catered many weddings and parties with her good friend, Doris Kennedy. Chris was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Michael Glen Young, brother James Fletcher, sisters Betty Weaver, Fern Penny and Frances Hansard. She is survived by her son Randy Young of Dripping Springs, TX; two brothers Bobby Fletcher and wife Connie of San Angelo; Orvil Fletcher and wife Sonja of Tyler; sister Earlene Marshall of Dallas; daughter-in-law Janice M.
