Collene Baker, 92, of San Angelo passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
No public services are planned at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Baker was born on May 4, 1930 on Lohn to Robert and Grace Roberts Butler. She attended school in Kerrville through tenth grade. Collene was the third of eight children and from an early age she was a caregiver to her younger siblings. She married Bill Baker on March 6, 1948 in Kerrville. Collene was Bill's caregiver up until his death on April 26, 1973. She was a clerk at a drug store, a telephone operator and worked in the business office at Sears. Collene ended her career as a commercial teller in the banking industry. She enjoyed crocheting and making jewelry in her spare time.
Collene is preceded in death by five siblings, Tiny Robinette, Modean Stone, Lila Crow, Bobby Butler, and Francis Butler; and a son-in-law, Danny Rhea.
She is survived by a daughter Sue Rhea of San Angelo; three sisters, Rachel Calentine, Ruthie Staley, and Catherine Butler all of El Paso; two grandchildren, Devin Rhea of San Angelo and Carissa Mouton of Austin; and two great-grandchildren, Dawson Mouton of San Antonio and Channing Mouton of Austin.
