CORNELIO GARCIA GUEBARA

Cornelio Garcia Guebara, 93, of San Angelo, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004 at his residence after a short battle with cancer. Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2005 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, with Juan De La Cerda from St. Mary's Catholic Church as celebrant. Mass of Christian service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Terry Brenon officiating, burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Cornelio was born September 16, 1911 in Del Rio to Juan and Dolores Guebara. Cornelio married Lillie Fuentes October 10, 1934 in San Angelo, she passed away November 1, 1987. He worked for Sunset Motor Freight for twenty three years, retiring in 1972. His family was his pride and joy. His presence in his family and friends lives will be eternally missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lillie Guebara, infant son Cornelio Guebara Jr., brother Pablo Guevara and sister Carmen Sanchez. He is survived by two daughters, Lupe Garza and husband, Lupe of San Angelo; Bernice Tristan and husband, Agustin Of Houston; one son, Alex Guevara and wife, Gloria Of San Angelo; two sisters, Chavela Castorena of San Angelo, Sheila Valdez of Abilene; brother-in-law, Frank Fuentes of Salt Lake City, Utah; nine grandchildren,twenty-four great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends. Pallbearers will be Brandon Tristan, David Guevara, Richard Guevara, George Martinez Jr., Ricky Garza, Marcelo Garza and Michael Guevara. The family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to the following:Hospice of San Angelo, especially the nurses Lea Henderson and Mary Camarillo; Meals on Wheels and Juan De La Cerda from St. Mary's Catholic Church.
