CRESENCIO B. RODRIGUEZ

Rev. Cresencio Rodriguez, 87, of Mertzon passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007 at his residence. Prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Fortunato Gonzales officiating. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Mertzon with Rev. Steven Fox officiating. Burial will follow at the Mertzon Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Rev. Rodriguez was born April 19, 1919 in Sanderson, Texas to Benigno and Juanita Rodriguez. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He served 33 years in the ministry, last serving at the Sonora Baptist Church before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Oralia Flores Rodriguez, mother of his two daughters. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Aida Rodriguez of Mertzon, Texas; two daughters Olga Satterfield of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; Hortencia Rodriguez of Sterling City, Texas; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, and various nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Santos Rodriguez, Ernesto Longoria, Alejandro Sedillo, Eddie Martin, Daniel Rodriguez and Valetin Gomez III. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Habitat for Humanity, 401 N. Chadbourne, San Angelo, Texas 76903.
