Daniel Andrew Dunlap, age 79 died peacefully at home in Big Lake, Texas on May 18, 2020
Private family graveside services to celebrate his life will be held in the Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas.
Daniel was born July 29, 1940, in Littlefield, Texas to Andrew and Jamie Murrell Dunlap. For many years the family lived 9 miles North of Brownfield on their cotton farm.
Daniel had a heart of gold, but he could be a bit of a ring tailed tooter too! He loved to gamble and was known for his talent at playing pool and cards. You just couldn’t beat him.
He stayed close to family throughout his entire life. Daniel was an introverted man, but if he let you into his heart, what a blessing it was! He was resilient and determined, even when doctors told him he had just a year to live, he took that as a challenge and with a gleam in his eye, he bet he could outlive their predictions, and he did! He lived and died on his own terms. He was treasured by his family who will dearly miss him.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Joyce Quinney.
He is survived by his brother, David Jack Dunlap, three nieces, Charletta Collins, Crystal Quinney and Michelle Watson, and several great nieces and nephews.
