DeeAnn Brandenberger Smith

DeeAnn was born in Brady, TX on May 26, 1962, to Raymond and Janice Kirk Brandenberger. She attended Mason Schools and graduated in 1980. She was married in 1981 and for a short period of time, lived in Boerne. Mason again became her home and the family was blessed with two children, Dava Reeves McCarty and Daniel Reeves. While in Mason, DeeAnn worked at the Day Care Center which was held at the First United Methodist Church. The family moved to Alpine, where she received her Associate Degree as a Veterinary Technician from Sul Ross College. For several years she lived and worked in the Austin area. Returning to Mason in recent years, she worked as Secretary for the First United Methodist Church. She and her present husband, Mark Smith, moved to Mertzon in 2009, where he was assigned to the Methodist Church. DeeAnn was Secretary for the Mertzon church and found great pleasure in her work and service. She especially found joy as she & Mark organized activities for the youth of the Mertzon area. DeeAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Brandenberger, and grandparents, Estell and Chester Kirk of Junction; Dessie and Howard Brandenberger of Mason, TX. She is survived by her husband, Mark of Mertzon; daughter, Dava (Jeff) McCarty of San Antonio; son, Danny Reeves; grandsons, Eli and Jax McCarty; Parents, Raymond and Patsy Brandenberger of Mason. Also survived by (and like sisters), Sammie(Mark) Veit of Cuero and Jodie Mahan of Nixon; Mark Smith's children, Ben Smith of Missouri and Stacy Smith of Florida; Aunts and Uncles, Betty and Daymond Brandenberger of Mason and Carlos; Nancy Loeffler of Kenney ; cousins, Debra (Roy) Davenport, Denise Brandenberger, both of Mason; Tonya (Sandy) Fulgham of Kentucky, Carla (Dwight) Sweeney of Austin and Keith Loeffler of Fulshear Niece and Nephew, Chelsea Veit and Garrett Veit; Great nieces and nephews Zach Hoag(April) and Mitchell, Preston and Bryan; Jessica Hoag and Bella; Nathan Hoag; Tanna Fulgham; Nathan and Nolan Sweeney. A service honoring DeeAnn's life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Mason, Texas on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home.
