Delbert "Skeeter" Clark

Delbert "Skeeter" Clark, 76 of San Angelo, went to his Heavenly home to be with his beloved wife, Ollie Mae, on Friday, August 2, 2013. Graveside service will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Belvedere Memorial Park, with Pastor Steve Hamm, of Cross Road Assembly of God, officiating. Family visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. His Parents, L.J. and Mattie were on their way to San Angelo and had to pull over on the side of the road in Stephenville on December 17, 1936, where he was born. His mother, Mattie, said "that he was no bigger than a skeeter because he weighed only 3 pounds and he fit in a shoe box." Thus the name stuck with him all his life. He worked most of his life in the Ready Mix concrete business. Then he went to manage American British Antiques until his retirement. He often joked that he was the oldest antique there. Survivors include: his children, Debbie Garvin and husband Joe, Stevie Clark and wife Laura, grandchildren, Mandi Clark, Brandon Clark and wife Hailey, Levi Clark and wife Melanie, great grandchildren, Kaitlin and Logan Clark, special nephews, Henry J. Clark and Pee-Wee Lee, lifelong friend, Bobby Payne, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Skeeter was a jewel of a dad, grandpa, and PopPop. He was a friend to many and never met a stranger. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile. He is greatly loved, and will be missed and forever in our hearts. So long, until we meet again dear dad. Memorials may be made to Cross Road Assembly of God, 301 N Marie St, San Angelo, TX 76905.
