Dell V. Joiner, 91, of San Angelo, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2005 in a local nursing home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Ivy Cemetery in Christoval with Rev. Robert "Bob" E. Boyce officiating. Born in Hale Center on July 11, 1913, his family moved to San Angelo when Dell was a boy. Dell's father, Oscar Joiner, had a fishing bait shop at the original Ben Ficklin. Dell delivered telegrams on bicycle and he later worked at Piggley Wiggley #2 as a butcher. He enjoyed fishing, football, gardening and barbequing. Dell met Betty Teimann from Veribest and they were married in 1934. Betty preceded him in death April 20, 2001. Four years to the day, Dell passed on. Survivors are a daughter Shirlene Turner and husband, Dennis, of San Angelo; a son Carl Joiner and wife, Mickey, of Cody, Wyoming; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
