Demetrio Zuniga

Demetrio "Junior" Zuniga, 52, formally of Hereford, Texas went to be with the Lord September 18, 2021, in Big Springs, Texas surrounded by his children and partner in life, Opie DeHoyos.

Public Viewing will be from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM with prayer service to be held at 6:00 PM on Monday September 27, 2021, at Robert Massie Funeral Riverside Chapel in San Angelo. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at St. Joseph Church with Father Ismael Velasco Ornelas officiating. Graveside services will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Per the request of the family, masks are required.

Junior was born in Hereford on April 16, 1969, to Demetrio Sr and Maria Antonia Zuniga. The only brother to his 5 sisters, Gracie Martinez, Laurie Martinez, Lisa Zuniga, Marviel Zuniga and Veronica Barron. Junior married his high school sweetheart Rosemary Zuniga in 1986. They spent 19 years of their lives together, raising four children.

Demetrio dedicated himself to his family by working hard and providing. He had a passion for coaching his kids throughout their lives. He was a loving and devoted father. The one thing he instilled in them, was a strong work ethic and a commitment to each other.

His survivors include his four children, son Eric Zuniga partner Miranda Martinez, their two sons Zadrien Garivay and Zavien Zuniga; his daughter, Sabrina Zuniga and partner Sean Schumpert and their two children, Makayla Zuniga and Caleb Schumpert; his son, Paul Zuniga and his partner Priscilla Lomas, and their two daughters Zaila Zuniga and Aubri Zuniga; his daughter, Selena Covey and partner Austin Covey, two daughters Amaiya Covey and Ali Covey, all of San Angelo; and his wife, Opie DeHoyos.

Demetrio is preceded in death by his parents Demetrio Zuniga Sr and Maria Antonia Zuniga, sisters Martha, Josephina and Angela Zuniga; and grandparents Magdaleno and Nicolasa Zuniga.
