Dudley Hargrove, age 81, of San Angelo passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. James Mitchell, Pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ballinger. Arrangements by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Dudley was born on June 29, 1925 in Winters, Texas to Jeff and Virgie Hargrove. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. Dudley was a butcher for M-Systems. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Billie Hargrove; daughters Jackie Ogilvy and husband, Thomas, Kathy Scalf and husband, Robin; son Gary Hargrove all of San Angelo; one brother; L.O. Hargrove and wife, Betty of Gainesville, TX; Twelve grandchildren: Rick Charlton and wife, Laura, Robert Ogilvy and wife, Erin; Michael Hargrove and wife Amanda, Nick Scalf and wife, Arlene, Nathan Scalf, Timothy Hargrove all of San Angelo; Jamie Scalf, Joey Scalf and wife, Heather all of Amarillo; Jennifer Asbill and husband, Scott; Karl Ballard and husband, Brian; Sara Callan and husband Justin all of San Angelo; Shelly Clayton and husband, Jamie of Mertzon; sixteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Richard Hargrove. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family would like to send a special "Thank You" to Dr. Anderton, the staff at Shannon Rehabilitation, Shannon Skilled nursing at St. Johns, Gerling Home Health, Vista Care Hospice and Dr. Stanley, and staff at the Regency House for all their care and support provided for Mr. Hargrove and his family. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, Vista Care Hospice or a favorite charity.
