Dick Kenneth Childers

Dick Childers, 91, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018, in San Angelo. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 21, 2018 at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, with Rev. Chuck Davis, associate pastor of Bannockburn Baptist Church in Austin, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo. Mr. Childers was born October 3, 1927 in Austin. He married Waldine Adeline Burkhardt on June 2, 1951. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2013. Dick was a veteran of the US Navy serving as an engineer in Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in San Angelo. Dick work for the Texas Department of Transportation in the Motor Vehicle Division as Regional Supervisor for 30 years retiring in 1988. Dick enjoyed fishing and playing golf. Survivors include his son, Kevin Childers and wife Rhonda of San Angelo. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Norman Childers, A.P.
