DOMINGO JULIO LOPEZ

Domingo J. Lopez 84 of San Angelo passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2006 in Big Spring. Prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM, Sunday, June 18, 2006 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor David Smith of Word of Life officiating. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 19, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father David Herrera officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Domingo was born December 20, 1921 in Fredericksburg to Cornelio and Rosa Lopez. He was a proud WWII Army Veteran. Domingo was an outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, camping and loved getting together with his family. He helped his family in anyway he could. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. Survivors are: daughters Elecia Garcia and husband, Larry, Mary Martinez, Juanita Lopez, Deloris Ramirez and husband, John all of San Angelo, Erlinda Backiel and husband, Russ of Keller, TX and Gloria Pineda and husband, Andy of Grapevine; son Domingo Lopez and wife, Ginny of San Angelo; sisters Lupe Steinspring and husband, Bob of Llano, Joyce Banks and husband, Walter of Converse, TX and Trini Garza of San Angelo; brothers Benny Lopez of San Jose, CA, John Lopez, Eugene Lopez and wife Dolores all both of San Angelo; Eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kendol Keller, Scott Ramirez, Russel Backiel Sr., Russel Backiel Jr., John Ramirez and Andy Pineda. The family would like to thank all the staff at the VA Nursing Home and Hospice in Big Spring for the wonderful care given to Mr. Lopez.
