Donald Bruce Watson

Bruce Watson passed away in San Angelo, TX on November 16, 2015. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lucille and Donald Ray Watson, grandparents, Elizabeth & Wayne Sessom and sister, Diana Watson Spain. Bruce is survived by his son, Don, daughter-in-law, Julie, grandchildren Dustin and Lauren Watson all of Mertzon, TX, daughters, Laura Massey and Robin Dintleman of TN, close cousins, Patsy Easter and Clif Tinney of San Angelo, TX. Bruce was born in Brady, TX on November 11, 1941. After living on a ranch in Pandale, TX, with grandparents, he moved to San Angelo in 1947 to attend public school. In 1959 he joined the US Navy and served four years aboard the USS Ranger. Afterwards, he returned to San Angelo and started his 42 year career in the sporting goods business. He was an avid lover of the outdoor; hunting and fishing were his favorites. He retired in 2005 and moved to Mertzon. Bruce made many lasting friendships throughout his life. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held on Friday, November 27th from 2 to 4 pm at Bruce's home in Mertzon, TX. The family wishes to thank Regency House and Hospice of San Angelo for their special care. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hospice of San Angelo, P.O. Box 471, San Angelo, TX 76902.
