Doris Steadman

Doris Steadman, 82 of Ira, passed away at her residence on Saturday, July 25, 2015. Funeral service will be 2 PM Friday, July 31, 2015 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor Leroy Ochoa officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Doris was the oldest of five children, born December 29, 1932 on the family farm near Eola to Gaston and Mamie (Edgington) Steadman. She attended San Angelo College and got her BS and Masters in education at the University of Arkansas. Doris dedicated her teaching career to Borden County ISD for more than four decades and always enjoyed keeping up with her former students years after. Doris was preceded in death by: her parents, brothers Gerald Steadman and Harold Steadman, and Sister Nelda Jenkins. She is survived by: her sister Mary Jo Lewis of Lubbock and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her honor to the Borden County ISD, POB 95, Gail, Texas 79738.
