At a young age, she began caring for the younger children in her family and her siblings consider her to be their "second mom." That was a role that would last her lifetime for numerous children. Dorotha was training to be a nurse when she met her husband, Richard D. "Dick" Cline. They were married in 1950 and started a family that included 7 children, 19 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. The family was constantly expanding due to the couple's mutual belief that all children deserved to be loved. Nieces, nephews, grandchildren and childhood friends found themselves part of the household. Dorotha's philosophy was that "if my children love you, so do I. " Dick's job relocated the family many times; but, regardless of location, the Cline house was always the favorite gathering place of neighborhood kids, often described as being filled with love and comfort, a place where everyone was accepted the moment they walked in the door. Dorotha learned to sew as a small child and created works of art with fabric, needle, and thread. She is best known for her love of quilting, which allowed her to wrap her love around those she loved, even when they were not close enough to hug. In addition to warming the hearts of loved ones, she used her skills to benefit others, creating quilts for area charities including the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. Dorotha was a loving, devoted mother to her children, and thought each of her grandchildren was the greatest gift that she ever received. When her great-grandchildren began arriving, she stated that "God has blessed me with all of these little people, each so different." She saw each child that she impacted as a gift given to her from God. Dorotha was greeted in Heaven by her husband of 48 years, Richard D. "Dick" Cline, son -Richard A. Cline, parents -Konrad and Maida Bremmer, sister- Mary Bremmer McDaniel, and brother- Eddie Bremmer.
