Dr. Hernando Bedoya, 71, of San Angelo passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at a local nursing home. Graveside comitial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Woodland Park Memorial Cemetery in Mineral Wells, TX with Pastor Tommy Pophins officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Hernando was born in Medellin, Colombia on September 30, 1939, to Hernando, Sr. and Ana Velez (Estrada) Bedoya. Hernando was a linguistic professor for many years in Medellin, Colombia; he also taught in Santa Monica and Los Angeles, California. He retired from Wells Fargo Bank in Roseville, CA in 2001. He and Leonor later settled in San Angelo in 2005. Hernando is survived by his wife, Leonor Tijerina-Romero of San Angelo; son, Dr. Jose Miguel Amaya of Ames, Iowa; daughter, Yolanda Martinez RN of Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-law, Lucille Cervantes and husband, Richard of Glendora, CA; brother-in-law, Mike Romero, Jr. and wife, Elsa of Altadena, CA; special niece, Sylvia Takahashi of Glendora, CA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many, many friends.
